A Community Initiative Worth Knowing About

Photo from Filinvest City
Launchpad Coworking is located in the heart of Filinvest City, Alabang, and over the years, we have come to appreciate everything this community has to offer. One initiative that recently caught our attention is Project Green, a plant exchange program running right at Filinvest City Central Park.
If you have not heard of it yet, here is everything you need to know.
What is Project Green?
Project Green is a recycling initiative by Filinvest City that allows anyone to exchange clean, empty plastic bottles for ornamental and edible plants. The concept is simple: bring your recyclables, walk away with something that grows.
The booth is located to the right of the Filinvest sign at Central Park, and is usually manned by Angelo, who will check your bottles before processing the exchange.
How the Exchange Works
The rates are straightforward:
- 3 plastic bottles: 1 seed packet
- 6 plastic bottles: 1 common plant
- 10 plastic bottles: 1 special plant
All clean plastic bottles of any size are accepted. The plant selection varies daily depending on availability, so arriving early gives you the best selection. Past offerings have included ornamental plants such as mayana, fortune plants, duranta, and elephant ear, as well as various edible varieties.
When and Where
- Open: Fridays to Sundays, 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM
- Location: Right side of the Filinvest sign, Central Park, Filinvest City, Alabang
Why It Matters
Project Green has been running for over a year inside one of the most established green-certified developments in the country. It is a practical approach to community recycling: make it rewarding, and participation follows naturally.
Filinvest City has long been intentional about sustainability, green spaces, and community-driven initiatives. Project Green is a fitting extension of that commitment and one that residents, workers, and visitors in the area can easily take part in.
For the Launchpad Community
Both Launchpad Commercenter and One Griffinstone are within walking distance of Filinvest City Central Park. The next time you wrap up a workday at Launchpad, consider bringing your bottles along. It is a small habit that contributes to something larger.
We will be keeping an eye out for more community initiatives worth sharing. If you have come across something similar in the south, we would love to hear about it.
