Reimagining a Founding Space: The Launchpad Coworking Renovation

A space that inspires with details that make a difference

As Launchpad Coworking’s founding space evolved alongside its community, it became clear that the environment needed to grow with it. This coworking space renovation was an opportunity to rethink how the space supports focus, collaboration, and comfort—while still holding on to the playful, creative spirit that has always defined Launchpad.

To bring this vision to life, we worked with architect Trixi Garcia and Lozcon (the construction company that has built all Launchpad sites from Day 1) to reimagine the space from the ground up. More than just a visual update, the renovation addressed long-standing functional challenges while creating a more cohesive, inspiring environment for today’s way of working.

When we first briefed you, what was our main direction—and how did you interpret or elevate it?

The LP team thought it was time to renovate their founding branch since being built in 2015. We discussed that the business has evolved over the years, and we wanted to reflect that in the design of today—while still embodying the playful spirit of LP.

What were the biggest challenges or limitations of the old space?

The biggest challenge was that the ceiling had no insulation. There was real concern about the office being uncomfortably hot during summer, and rain was also becoming an earsore. Other challenges were the cramped pantry and the lack of dedicated call corners, which affected workflow.

What’s the most noticeable difference between the old space and the new one?

At face value, the most noticeable differences are the color blocking and play of light. From a day-to-day user perspective, the cooler room temperature and better noise control from the new ceiling stand out just as much.

How did you design the space to balance focus, collaboration, and comfort?

It was about livening up the space without taking away focus from the work. I used color and light to define spaces and highlight certain features. Environment is everything—it can influence how one shows up.

What’s your favorite part of the space—and why?

I don’t think I can single out any part because I see it as a whole. Each area contributes to a bigger story. It’s like that saying, ‘life is a book and if you don’t travel, you read only one page’—except it’s a coworking space.

Is there a detail people might overlook that actually makes a big difference?

I made all the lights one temperature. It used to be a mix of daylight and warm white in random spots, which made it look cluttered. Making the lighting uniform made the space feel more cohesive.

In one sentence, how would you describe this coworking space to someone who’s never been here?

Launchpad is a friendly neighborhood workspace that inspires and uplifts you and your ideas.

This coworking space renovation is more than just a refresh—it reflects how Launchpad continues to evolve with its community.

As the way we work changes, so do the spaces we create. By balancing creativity, comfort, and functionality, the new Launchpad space is designed to support not just productivity, but also connection, inspiration, and growth.
